How to Pick Color from Disparate Colors

Select from many disparate colors. Use the color chart for both outdoor and indoor works.

There are 2 gains when you use this free color picker tool.

It gives you a good option to get your choice from a range of disparate colors. This helps when your client wants you to use different shades of one dominant color, instead of using blended colors between 2 dominant colors.

Watch the video lesson below. Remember you also get a color chart that can be very handy in typical situations.

We have earlier discussed how to select colors within the range of 2 pre-determined colors. We have also learned how to create a color palette from any photo or image.

However there could be an instance when you might need to pick up one or 2 colors from many disparate colors. In such cases, you can rely on ColorPicker as an excellent tool.

Let’s say your client wants to select 2 colors for a design project – one each from pink and dark yellowish orange.

The best way to go about will be to select some colors from pink, and some from dark yellowish orange. Let’s do this.

First, I’ll pick up, say 4 colors of different shades of pink. To do that I simply drag this small circle to the color that I like.

Each time I select a color, I’ll click the button, Add to my Colors, and the color gets added to the palette.

For each color I’ve chosen, I get the hexadecimal code at this top box. I also get the HSB and the RGB values for the color.

My next job will be to select 4 colors based on my other choice, which is dark yellowish orange. This time too, I repeat the same steps as I did in the first case.

Okay, now that I have chosen 8 colors, you can see them here side by side. And this helps you to decide which of these you should choose for your client.

This is a simple tool, but serves a vital purpose of selecting the right color for your needs.

Color Picker offers another great help, and that is by way of color chart.

Here, as you can see, you get a ready list of a large number of popular colors, arranged alphabetically by their names…along with their hexadecimal codes.

This list is very handy for designers, for both outdoor and indoor works, and also for web designing.

Okay, this lesson will end now.

Hope you are able to use the color tools I have explained in the lessons of this section, for your needs.

Thanks for watching.
